Syque (pronounced 'sike') is my knowledge sharing site. My purpose is to share
knowledge and understanding on an unprecedented scale, adding real value for
individuals and companies. Consider it as 'original books on the internet',
with already over 7000 web pages of industrial-strength knowledge freely available.
The Syque sites are as follows:
ChangingMinds.org is already a
huge site, with around 5000 pages on all subjects around how we change one
another's minds. Including:
CreatingMinds.org is a new site
about creativity and innovation, with around 400 full-content pages. Including:
- Tools: A huge
toolbox of creative tools.
- Quotes:
Thousands of quotes on creative topics.
-
Principles: Principles of creativity.
- Articles:
More articles on creativity and creative organizations.
Quality Tools contains about 600
pages, mostly on the tools and techniques of quality and improvement,
including the full text of a major book and ten-plus years of journal
articles.
This is a long list of
around 400 items, each with a page containing descriptions of tools and terms about improvement
and quality, ranging from original Japanese terminology to Six Sigma
frameworks.
The first book I wrote was called 'C: Style --
Standards and Guidelines' and was about how to write computer programs that
people (including yourself) can understand. Although based in the C language, it
covers many general principles. It is reproduced in its entirety here in about
200 hyperlinked pages.
And here are some thoughtful
articles on assorted business topics, from innovation to branding.
And here are about 50 pages with small stories that I
and others have written to help think, understand and explain.
This is Inspirational Teaching,
a blog by my wife Eleri, who is one of those teachers you remember for life. Her goal
is to get her students to love Shakespeare and English Literature for life.
Oh, and along the way, they get remarkably good grades.
This is Heledd's site. Heledd is my
daughter who started in art and ended in business. The site's not new now,
but it still includes over
650 pages
from her Master's degree course in International Management.
Enjoy.

The story of the sites
I am three things. First, I am a learning
junkie, hooked on the thrill of discovery and 'aha's. Secondly, I am, by
original training, an engineer, which means I need to connect theory to
practice. Finally, I am also a teacher, and love to pass on the 'aha's of
discovery.
I have published six books, and in doing so
have discovered that publishing books has two limitations. First, the author gets very little
return for the expended effort. And worse, the desire to communicate and help others
is limited by the publisher's attention and reach.
And so I'm now mostly writing websites instead --
and my family are also joining in. It
has enormous reach, of course. It is funded by my
pocket and when visitors follow adverts and buy books.
