Sunday 29th September 2013

Fly into Pisa. Get train to Siena. Easy walk over road into shopping mall where there are eight (count them!) escalators up the hill. The nice (and good value) Hotel Italia is almost opposite. Chucking down with rain but still went for walk. Only took tablet so very low-res photos.

Bus trip to San Gimignano (or 'San Chimichanga' as we remember it). Lovely hilltop town with lots of towers built initially defensively then trying to out-do the neighbours.
