Control ChartThe cornerstone of Statistical Process Control, the Control Chart highlights special causes of variation in a repeating process. They are not the easiest of tools to use and a degree of statistical knowledge is of significant benefit.Generally, they are only useful in high frequency processes where there is sufficient data, although short-run charts can be used. The Control Chart is one of the first seven tools. Note: The Control Chart in practice is quite complex, with a number different types of chart and calculation depending on the data being analysed. This summary is thus a significant simplification!
