DCQE
DCQE are the initials of four areas in which processes (and hence
businesses) can be measured:
- Deliverables - factors around the process outputs, including
product/service attributes and customer satisfaction.
- Cost - costs associated with the process, from material to
labor costs.
- Quality - identified quality factors within the process, such
as around defects.
- Education - degree of training/certification required and
given for people in the process.
Historical note: DCQE was first used in HP in the 1980s. It has
many similarities with the Balanced Scorecard measures, and it is believed
that Kaplan/Norton (originators of the Balanced Scorecard) were aware of
it.
