Quality AssuranceAccording to ISO8402:1994, Quality Assurance is:'All the planned and systematic activities implemented within the Quality System, and demonstrated as needed, to provide adequate confidence that an entity will fulfill requirements for Quality.' Broadly, this covers systems, processes and people. It may include design, purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales and any other part of the business system. It is proactive (vs. the reactive nature of Quality Control), seeking to prevent problems and defects. This requires planning and management of risks.
