There are some applications where information is not numeric and where a pictorial display is either inappropriate or impossible. DescriptionTables give a flexible approach to structuring various types of information, and may be viewed as a form of matrix. They typically contain text, symbols or numbers, arranged in rows and columns, as in the table below.
